In line with the Scottish Government’s commitment that every child will learn two languages in addition to their own mother tongue, here in the Languages Faculty we deliver two Modern Foreign Languages from S1: French (L2) and German (L3). Our BGE pupils are immersed in the language and culture of both, to ensure that they have opportunities to progress at an appropriate pace in both languages.

Pupils can choose to specialise in either Language from S3, with a full suite of National Qualifications on offer in the Senior Phase from National 4 through to Advanced Higher.
