Numeracy is a skill for life, learning and work.   

At Lornshill Academy our approach to numeracy is to ensure that all young people are equipped with the skills to be able to confidently and effectively use mathematics to meet the everyday demands of life. Numeracy is important for individuals to develop logical thinking and reasoning strategies in their everyday activities.  

As a Mathematics Faculty we naturally incorporate developing numeracy skills within our lessons using a variety of approaches.  

It is crucial that opportunities are provided to maximise pupils’ potential. As a wider STEM faculty, we are committed to ensuring all young people develop the strong numeracy skills required to lay the foundations for success at school, work and in daily life.
