S1/2 Curriculum
All S1/2 pupils follow a broad curriculum building knowledge, skills and experience in the 8 curricular areas;
- Expressive arts.
- Health and wellbeing.
- Languages.
- Mathematics.
- Religious and moral education.
- Sciences.
- Social studies.
- Technologies.
Learning progression is assessed using a wide variety of approaches including, teacher judgement, class assessments, home learning tasks and formal tests. In S1/2 pupils progression will be based on a range of these methods across the academic session.
Parents and carers can access our online monitoring and tracking system to view teacher judgements and where appropriate comments for next steps in learning. The number judgement is the curriculum level the pupil is currently working within.
Note: This is a general guide. Learners will progress at their own pace through the curriculum levels - the framework is designed to be flexible to permit careful planning for those with additional support needs, including those who have a learning difficulty and those who are particularly able or talented.
