Parent Council
The Parent Council fosters an environment where all parents feel valued and empowered to contribute their valuable insights. It provides a platform for parents to:
- Express their views on matters pertaining to their children's education.
- Actively participate in discussions on key educational issues.
The Parent Council acts as a representative body, advocating for the interests of all parents within the school community.

This section provides access to meeting dates and minutes, enabling you to stay informed about the ongoing work of the Parent Council and the key issues being discussed.
The Parent Council is a representative body comprised of parents who volunteer their time to advocate for the interests of all parents and carers within the Lornshill Academy community.
As a parent or carer of a pupil at Lornshill Academy, you are automatically a member of the school's parent forum and warmly invited to attend Parent Council meetings. These meetings typically occur every six weeks and are currently held online, providing convenient access for all parents.
Parent Council meetings offer valuable opportunities to:
- Gain insights into the latest developments within the school.
- Contribute to key decision-making processes.
- Provide valuable feedback to the school leadership team.
Mr Black, the Headteacher, regularly utilizes Parent Council meetings as a valuable forum for consultation, seeking parental perspectives on new initiatives before their implementation across the school.
We believe that every parent's voice is crucial in shaping the future of Lornshill Academy. Your active participation in Parent Council meetings ensures that parental perspectives are effectively represented in all decision-making processes.
