School Travel Plan
Bus
For secondary pupils, entitlement is as follows:
Lornshill Academy
- Any pupil resident in the catchment area of Clackmannan PS, Craigbank PS, Fishcross PS or Deerpark PS; or who is resident in the catchment areas of Abercromby PS, Banchory PS or St Serf's PS and his/her residence is over two miles from the school, or from the nearest designated transport pick-up point, by the shortest suitable walking route.
- Pupils resident in Cambus will also receive free home to school transport.
Car
For pupils travelling to school by car there is a limited area for pupil drop off. It is located on Tullibody road next to the entrance for Ormiston Drive. For the safety of pupils and staff, parents are not permitted to use the school carpark.
Cycle
Our Active Travel Hub has been set up to encourage pupils to consider how they travel to school and the benefits of an active lifestyle. We continue to explore safe and active travel routes for young people with several areas for pupils to store their bikes. Our Active Travel coordinater can be found within our Design and Technology Faculty for support and advice on active travel to school.
Walking
Many of our pupils walk to school. There has been ongoing work over a number of years to widen paths and create safer walking routes. All pupils walking are encouraged to use the planned routes to school to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
