Importance of Good Attendance |
KNOW YOUR NUMBER
As a school community we encourage and support all families to be aware of attendance rates and to work with us to maximise all pupil's learning time. Each term we send out to all families the percentage attendance rate to date to support this and encourage where appropriate further discussion.
The 'Know your number' letter is sent to all families regardless of circumstance and should only confirm what you already know. This information is helpful to enable parents and carers to see the overall picture for attendance as this is not always evident across terms and academic sessions.
SUPPORTING EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE
The following interventions are used to support our families where attendance rates are concerning and potentially impacting on a pupil's achievement and attainment. All circumstances are different, however, parents and carers can expect the following actions where appropriate,
95% - 100% - Termly letter
90% - 95% - Termly Letter / Pupil Check in
85% - 90% - Text or Call to home
Below 85% - Contact Home / Scheduled Meeting
The purpose of our 'know your number' initiative is to ensure we support you as best as we can to maximise all pupil's learning time and ultimately what they achieve and attain during their time in Lornshill Academy.
