  • School Captain and Pupil Leadership Team ApplicationsApplications for the positions of School Captain and Pupil Leadership Team are now being taken from pupils moving in to S6 next session.  Any interested pupil should write a short statement (250 words max) explaining what they would contribute to the role of School Captain. The Pupil Leadership Team and School Captains will work closely with the staff Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to promote and represent Lornshill Academy throughout next session.  The successful applicants will be expected to lead the school prefect team and to liaise closely with the SLT to represent the pupils views and support school events. Applications should be submitted by 12pm on Wednesday 30th May by e-mailing the statement to lornshill@edu.clacks.gov.uk with the subject School Captain or handing a written or printed statement to the school office.  These will then be collated for staff and S6 pupils to read and vote for the Pupil Leadership Team in the week beginning Monday 4th June.  The top six pupils receiving the most votes will form the Pupil Leadership Team and will all be interviewed for the position of School Captain during that week. If there are any questions or queries then please e-mail or phone the school for more information.

WELCOME FROM THE HEADTEACHER

I am very pleased to welcome you to Lornshill Academy’s website.  I hope you find it informative and easy to use.  There is a great deal of useful information already available on the website and it also provides a number of links to other key sites and we shall add to these over time.

Lornshill Academy is a six year comprehensive school, situated between the village of Tullibody and Alloa with a student roll of around 1130.  Within our learning community we are fully committed to providing opportunities for every pupil to achieve success, to make friends, to discover new talents and to develop new skills.

We offer opportunities for your child to take part in a wide range of activities including sports, music, drama, and cultural activities in addition to the academic life of the school.  In return we ask that your child shows us commitment, works hard, sets high expectations and takes responsibility for supporting our school community.

Our teachers, support staff and many partners are hard-working, caring and devote many hours of their time to providing excellent learning experiences including clubs and activities outside the normal school day.

Positive relationships with all our partners are core to our success and you will always be made to feel welcome within our school.
